What’s an S-Pass?
The S Pass is a type of Singapore work visa / pass suitable for mid-level skilled foreign technicians with advanced expertise in such key developing industries as chemicals, electronics, aerospace engineering, marine, pharmaceuticals and others.
S-Pass visa is a good option as compare to employment pass (EP) when your company does not have the budget to pay a high salary for EP. However, the key challenge is to obtain a quota for S-Pass as the sponsor company needs to have enough local full-time employees to be able to sponsor one S-Pass applicant. Criteria of the S-Pass
What’s the S-Pass requirement?
- Must be sponsored by a well-established Singapore company;
- Sponsor company must have the S-Pass quota (typically, 7 locals to 1 S-Pass holder – check our FAQs section at the bottom to learn more). If you do not have the company quota for S-Pass, you may explore Employment Pass.
- Applicant must have at least 3 years of working experience and must draw a minimum monthly fixed salary of 2,400 SGD;
- Applicant should have at least a degree of diploma. Alternatively, must provide other professional or trade certificates;

FAQs
The number of S-Pass quota holders that a company can hire:
i. Service industry: 13% of your company total workforce in the service sector
ii. 20% in all other sectors
3 weeks upon submission Additional 3 – 6 weeks for rejections or additional documents request.
The S-Pass is valid for 12 – 24 months. You can extend for up to 36 months.
2400 per month
Employment Pass is more suitable for employees who are executive and above. Additionally, the minimum salary for EP is much higher than S-Pass but there is no quota required for hiring EP holder.
